FAQs
Go-kart racing is an exciting experience, whether you’re headed out with a group of friends and family or enjoying it on your own. However, before you head out for your event, you may have some questions that need to be answered–including concerns about what to wear or what you can expect when you arrive at the track. Do you have questions about going go-karting? Check out these common queries and answers.
Go Kart races
Go-kart races are an exciting way to celebrate a special occasion, spend time with friends and family, or just get out on the track and race. Our facility allows for the “arrive and drive” option, which allows you to arrive during our open hours: between 12 and 8 pm on Thursday through
Friday, 10 to 8 pm on Saturday, and 10 to 6 pm on Sunday. You can choose between adult karts, junior karts, or ADA karts, depending on your specific needs and preferences.
Private parties/group events
If you prefer a private party for your go-kart event, we have a solution for you! You can schedule small group events or arrange to rent out the facility for larger events. We offer packages for kid parties, teen parties, and corporate events for adults. Each party is customized to your specific group and plans, which means you can make the most of every moment and focus on having fun!
What should one wear for each of the activities?
Ideally, you should wear flexible, comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement when you’re headed out to drive the go-karts. In addition, close-toed shoes are required to ride: no sandals, bare feet, or open toes. Do not wear accessories that could interfere with your ability to drive, including options like long scarves. Ladies may want to avoid the flowing dresses for these events. However, show up in something that feels comfortable and be prepared to enjoy!
What are the age and height requirements?
In order to ride the junior karts, drivers must be at least 48″ tall, while adult kart riders must be at least 58″ (4’10”) tall. Individuals under 18 must have an adult guardian sign a waiver that allows
them to race. All riders will also need to sign a waiver accepting the potential risk associated with the event.
Where is it located?
NOLA Motorsports Park is located at 11075 Nicolle Boulevard in Avondale. It is near the Churchill Energy Power Station and the Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy.
How safe are the activities?
Go-karting is a safe and enjoyable activity for many members of the family. However, it does require drivers to follow all relevant safety regulations to ensure that everyone has a safe experience on the track. Make sure you’re familiar with those regulations and prepared to listen to track employees when you arrive.
Will someone teach us how to race?
When you arrive at the track, you will receive some basic instructions on how to operate the go-kart and the rules of the track. However, you may need to figure out the finer details through experience! Coming back for future go-karting experiences will give you the opportunity to test your skills, learn more about the track, and share it with friends and family.
Is there food at the facility?
NOLA Motorsports Park is in the process of upgrading to a full on-site kitchen that can be used for your event.
What about drinks?
You will soon be able to find a full bar on the first floor of our karting center.
